As of the 1 April 2010 the UK Government will be introducing a new incentive to encourage drivers to purchase vehicles with lower CO2 emissions; Showroom Tax.

However, thanks to the award-winning BMW EfficientDynamics technology, many of the BMW Model Range fall below the 130g/km threshold. This results in customers benefiting from tax free driving for the first year which will give them even more driving pleasure.

If the specific BMW model you are after isn't under 130g/km BMW still out perform the competition.

• A BMW 730d will cost £250 less then an Audi A8 3.0 TDI Quattro and £125 less then a Mercedes-Benz S350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY.
  
• A BMW X6 xDrive30d will cost £200 less than a Range Rover Sport TDV6 or a Porsche Cayenne Diesel.

So in summary, the higher the emissions the more you will pay. But with BMW EfficientDynamics you could either drive for the first year tax free or at a much lower rate when compared with other competitor models.
